"When I was young I set out to change the world.
When I grew older I perceived that this was too ambitious,
so I set out to change my state.
This too, I realized as I grew older, was too ambitious,
so I set out to change my town.
When I realized that I could not do even this, I tried to change my family.
Now, as an old man I know that I should have started by changing myself.
If I had started with myself, maybe then I would have succeeded
in changing my family, the town, or even the state-
and who knows, maybe the world."

Visit Taiwan 2008! 003 - Modern city

Taipei 101 台北101 is the world Tallest skyscraper since 2004, and Malaysia Twin Tower became No.2. A 101 floors (509m) landmark tower that can withstand typhoons and earthquakes, which holds grand celebration every New Year (1-01)! (referred wikipedia). On the observatory, I saw the Taipei city from top, and then came down to take photos of the tower and around the commercial district. After all, it is a luxury shopping mall, and more malls nearby too.. In Taiwan, I felt the people there are WARM and are showing good attitudes like hardworking, and responsible (though there is very rare exception, sometime i think). Something I felt was, they aware that... they themselves or what they do (quality), are representing their nation. (it was my early observation). Anyway, I can see QUALITY! ..and CULTURE.

Taipei
Ximending 西門町 have been developed since Japanese ruling as entertainment area, the famous theaters street in Taipei, in 1930. It continued to prosper even after that, but was declining in 1990. In early 2000, Ximending revived as pedestrian area and of great attraction to young people! (referred wikipedia). Theaters, various stores, street performances, foods ...not forgetting pretty girls and handsomes. Ximending is extremely lively at night!! I can’t stop eating 小吃 during my travel, the night markets (Shilin, and Raohe)!
