Recalling back.. after graduated (a year ago), I was saying "I want to study neuroscience", and seeking advices.. However, I always stuck at a question, "what I want to study about the brain?" err.. Neuroscience is huge, you can study at molecular, cellular, systemic and anatomical level. Also functional studies, on other body system, on behavior and cognition. Despite the basic sciences, it could be clinical neuroscience. Specifically, I can't figure out what to study still, even though in the field for a year. ..just I wish to know more. Therefore, now in the midst of looking for my passion in the brain and I'm reading..
By the way, of all kind of neuroscience, they have (should have..) only one goal - to understand the brain! Why has to do it separately? ..even with same interest in same research group, why? You are in basic sciences and he or she is in clinical sciences; one studies cognition and other study behavior; He uses rodent model and she uses fish model, even people use invertebrate model; They are looking for molecular genetic and we are investigating the cellular morphology; It is so amazing to see the variety of interest or route of research in science. Why don't work together? ..even with other non-neurosciences? Instead of for respective interest, why not just for the only one goal?

Frankly, to be 'EXPERT' in one, or 'SPECIALIST' in one.. It is like a TRAP! It stops people from thinking outside the box! It cut off the possibilities that flow into the mind! It is a restricting culture! NO! The mind should be FREE.. flowing like water, only then the human potential could be unleashed!
