"When I was young I set out to change the world.
When I grew older I perceived that this was too ambitious,
so I set out to change my state.
This too, I realized as I grew older, was too ambitious,
so I set out to change my town.
When I realized that I could not do even this, I tried to change my family.
Now, as an old man I know that I should have started by changing myself.
If I had started with myself, maybe then I would have succeeded
in changing my family, the town, or even the state-
and who knows, maybe the world."

..starting to like big city again!

After moved back to hometown, small city here (just slightly boring, though extra lovely), I was quite PHOBIA with big city.. Even before that, not long ago, there was a period of time, whenever I stepped into the big city, I felt like ‘Ohh, again..’ Why? Emm.. some experiences happened which wasn’t quite happy and of course, wish NO recurrent ever; but I’m grateful of. Having study and work for 5 years there, did enjoy the life during university study and Aikido practice.. memorable!

HOWEVER, last Friday I went to the big city for training of my respected martial art, Aikido, at MAA HQ. The one day trip was worth it, especially the Aikido night class! Not bad, I regained the good feeling of big city I had before. Haha… Remember a book I read at Pavilion KL that afternoon – about Bruce Lee (my respected too) and his inspiring saying attracted me was ‘we learn to discover and express ourselves TRUTHFULLY through martial art’ (he meant this way but not exactly the words). Wow, that made the sort of kuantan aikido trip more wonderful!

I broke the phobia of big city I still don’t believe I had (I did?), but I think so… Now, I’m ready to go back to the big city.. to BIGGER city or to the BIGGEST city this time, hopeful! Yo.. not forgeting to shout,(from heart), 'MERDEKA!' Yesterday was Malaysia independence day......
